Console · Coming in the beta
Managing context should not mean reading YAML.
The console will be a local page that reads your vault and shows what your agents are actually loading: the boot set and its budget, the note that governs a moment, the graph of what points at what, and the queries as they arrive. It will run on your machine and listen only to it.
It is being built now, and the screens below are the ones the beta opens with. The captures are the console running in local mode against a demonstration vault written for this purpose, so what you see is the real page over made-up notes: nothing on screen is a measurement of Cortex, and nothing on screen is anyone’s estate. The figures the site does quote are on the evidence page, each one pinned to the run it came from.
The screens

What loaded at boot
The health of the vault, the size of the set an agent pays for at boot against its budget, and the receipts today’s sessions wrote.
Console preview, local mode, Oct 2026

The vault, by wing
Walk the tree the way an index does, read a note with its front matter, and see what links to it and what it links out to.

The map, with the load on it
The same graph the hero draws, over your own notes: wings as groups, size by how often a note is actually loaded.

What is being asked, live
The server’s own ledger as it happens: which query loaded which note, from which session, and the last day as a histogram.

Local, and only local
This is how the beta is being built. None of it is in a release you can install today.
- It will bind to the loopback address, so nothing off the machine can reach it.
- It will read a sealed copy of the vault at its last reviewed commit, so a half-finished edit in your working copy cannot be mistaken for a rule.
- A change you make in it will leave as a pull request against your vault, the same front door an agent uses.
- There will be no hosted console in the beta, and no remote mode to turn on by accident.
